Winning a high-consideration category
Couchpotato had already done the hard part right. They had a clear brand, a strong product, and a well-defined position in the market: Danish design, high comfort, and quality over discounts.
But that also comes with a price:
The Danish sofa market is heavily driven by discounts, campaigns, and short-term performance marketing. That makes it difficult to compete when, like Couchpotato, you operate in a higher price range with a product that requires consideration.
So the next growth phase wasn’t about more traffic.
It was about converting better, and building trust over time.

Rebuild the foundation, then build the journey around it.
Migrated from WooCommerce to Shopify
WooCommerce was the bottleneck. We moved Couchpotato to Shopify so the team had room to design, optimize, and scale without fighting the platform. Cleaner backend, better stack, and a foundation that could actually carry the brand experience.
Elevated the digital expression
The brand was already premium. The site wasn't. We rebuilt the visual layer to match the positioning: editorial, calm, comfort-led. Their content library did a lot of the lifting once we gave it the right frame.
Reduced friction across model, fabric, and configuration
A sofa purchase has too many moving parts to bury behind a generic PDP. We restructured the journey so customers could move between model selection, materials, and configuration without losing context. Fewer dead ends, less decision fatigue.
"Order fabric samples" as a strategic step
Pushing for the sale on a €2k+ sofa doesn't work. We added "Order fabric samples" as a primary action in the menu. Two effects: lower-commitment entry point, and a clear signal of buying intent we could act on downstream. The sample order is the real start of the customer journey, not the checkout.
Flow-based journey from first touch to post-purchase
Sofa buyers don't convert in one session. They need time, reassurance, and the right message at the right step. We built a flow-based system that walks the customer from stranger to fabric sample to showroom or online order.
